Foster Chapel Combined Choir
The Foster Baptist Church of Roebuck, South Carolina was established in 1865; and expressing gratitude, florifying and worshipping God in song have always been an intrical part of ushering in the spirit of God’s word, accomplished with clapping and ‘foot stumping’ on the wooden floor of the church.

The original music choir, consisted of 25 members, was organized in 1956 wen an interested group met, under the direction of Sister Alex Evans, Sister viola Ramson Salters became director and musician, remaining with the choir several years until she relocated to Detroit, Michigan. Sister Lucille Cohen, whom god gave the gift to play music by ear, then directed and rendered music for the choir for many years, until declining health and death took her June 29, 1977. Through the years the music department grew to have four to five choirs, with the mixed combined choir singing every first Sundays for worship service.

COVID-19 invaded he United States in 2020, and impacted churches. Along with other churches, our doors closed, but not our hearts and spirits. God could not be overpowered. Worship service continued virtually and outside at church. When our pastor, Dr. Patrick Suber (fourteenth pastor to lead the church, and present pastor) felt it was safe, congregation returned to inside service. Music and song were congregational. Again, Pastor encouraged members to reinstate our music worship, but space from one another. At first, only a few people committed. Eventually, numbers grew, and included young ages to senior adults, men and women; todays Combined Choir. Also another minister of mysic, Brother Michel Logan, was hired. Today, the combined choir sings three Sundays each month. Giving God the glory!
